Miracle waiting to happen!

Posted on May 4, 2007 by Fr. Jos+

The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground! – Genesis 2: 7

To create mankind God decided to choose the dust of the earth that he just created out of nothing. I wonder why didn’t God choose to create man from out of nothing just like he created the dust itself?

Man by nature is a creator as he shares the wisdom of God and participates in the creative process in the world. Man needed a little help to continue his part in creation. He needed a starting point and a substance to start with. For man can not create from nothing which certainly made him different from God. This starting point and the substance were the dust, from which he himself was created and he will create along with God for ages to come.

Man also needed to be reminded at the end of every achievement that he is created out of dust unlike the rest of creation which were created out of the abundance of nothingness. God’s creation of man and man’s creation of the world did not come alive and would not come alive without the breath of God into it. God is still in control at every stage of creation to the last second of life. If there is dust around there is a breath behind.

So every time we get ahead of ourselves, may be we need to remind us of our origins and the miracle that could happen when God breaths into us!

True Religion

What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? - Micah 6: 8 (The New Revised Standard Version)

Right Worship

Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That's the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship. - John 4: 24 (The Message Bible)

Living Faith

What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but do not have works?... If a brother or sister is naked and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and eat your fill,” and yet you do not supply their bodily needs, what is the good of that? - James 2: 14-16 (NRSV)
