Faith is a tricky thing

Posted on August 11, 2009 by Fr. Jos+

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Hebrews 11:6

Faith is a tricky thing. Faith requires acknowledgement. We can only believe in someone or something after we acknowledge it as a being. It starts with oneself and then things around us to people around us and the whole humanity as God's creation. Therefore all of God's creation as good enough for God to begin with before we attribute everything else to what God created. Faith starts with the acknowledgement of that which is out there as good enough in itself. When something is good enough in itself, it is ultimately good enough for the creator. Faith is a tricky thing. It challenges us to become who we are primarily created to be and then faith will emerge out of nowhere giving rise to all kinds of expressions of charity.
