Arise… Shine

Posted on October 15, 2007 by Fr. Jos+

Arise, shine; for your light has come. And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. Isaiah 60:1

Rise from the dust of the earth. Rise from the past and shine forever as God is the one who gives light in your life. It is not your own and it is everlasting. The source of light that you rise into is that which will shine everyday and forever.

Many times in life we fall back into the dust of the earth. All these times we are covered again with potential for new life and new light. For from the dust of the earth God recreates us and makes us new to shine before the world giving hope through us everyday to those who are about to fall into the dust and darkness of the world. So, rise today as your light is God and shine today as you only share the great light which is God.

You would need no more light or heat from the sun. Because all that warm your heart and all that shine within come from the Lord whose glory is the everlasting light. Therefore do not worry about the darkness you had to travel through in the past because the light that awaits in Christ can dispel it eternally. For God gave life to the dust in you to make you the child of God made of gold and shining for a world that lost  hope.

True Religion

What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? - Micah 6: 8 (The New Revised Standard Version)

Right Worship

Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That's the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship. - John 4: 24 (The Message Bible)

Living Faith

What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but do not have works?... If a brother or sister is naked and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and eat your fill,” and yet you do not supply their bodily needs, what is the good of that? - James 2: 14-16 (NRSV)
