A Profound Prayer!

A Profound Prayer!

“Almighty and everlasting God, you govern all things both in heaven and on earth: Mercifully hear the supplications of your people, and in our time grant us your peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.”

In an anxiety-ridden world remembering God is in charge of life is the key to peace. When I am overrun by situations that are beyond my control, which we all have, we need to know that God is in control. I am sure you have heard what I just here a thousand times. But just remembering doesn’t help. Isn’t it? So, let us practice it.

When you wake up in the morning, try a small practice of saying, “Lord, I trust in you. Take my day and make it as you will.” Now that sounds simple enough. It is a very simple thing, one might think. And it is, but it is more than simple, it is a simple and profound form of prayer because true prayer is not babbling of a thousand words but the simple longing of the heart uttered in a few words. A good prayer is always when it is done in the privacy of our hearts, meaning, when you are alone with God and you, sharing your life and God’s. It is a conversation between God and you. It is you and I being present to God because we know God is present to us all the time. It is you and I miss out on the opportunity for conversation with God because we are too busy with what we call life. So, let us pray, “Lord, I trust in you. Take my day and make it as you will.” and God will say, “Child, I got this.”
